Marc Fliedner for Brooklyn DA

“For all of us, now and with urgency, there is a need for courage in matters of justice.”

With those words, standing just feet from the historic arch at Grand Army Plaza where so many great Brooklyn neighborhoods merge, Marc Fliedner launched his run for Kings County District Attorney. After 30 years as an advocate fighting for justice on both sides of a broken criminal justice system, Marc was compelled to take his case to the people and set forth a platform marked by new ideas, new approaches and a brand new way of defining the role of prosecutor. His objective? Real and lasting criminal justice reform, the kind that will place fairness above politics and the safety and dignity of Brooklyn families above all else.

Marc’s Vision

There is bipartisan consensus, rare in these days, that the American criminal justice system is broken and must be reconsidered and rebuilt by means of sweeping reform. Marc has found that the most effective way for him to articulate key components of his vision, and report on some of the extraordinary things that are happening on the campaign trail, is to hit the blog first thing.

Jasper for Justice

Meet Jasper, Marc’s rescue pup. Marc and Jasper hang out at Fort Greene Park every Sunday morning during that great time before 9:00 am when the dogs get to play together off-leash. It’s a perfect time to engage Marc in conversation about neighborhood safety concerns, criminal justice matters in the news, your thoughts about what true criminal justice reform needs to look like. These conversations have informed Marc’s platform from the beginning and will help him refine the vision going forward. No appointment necessary!
